Eric Wright anchored the San Francisco 49ers secondary throughout the 1980s dynasty, establishing himself as one of the NFL's premier cover cornerbacks. Born April 18, 1959, in St. Louis, Missouri, Wright attended East St. Louis Assumption High School before starring at the University of Missouri. As a two-time All-Big Eight defensive back (1979-1980), Wright excelled for three Missouri teams that competed in bowl games.
