Shirley de Vrede is a Dutch filmmaker and actress who has been making her way into the film world through independent projects and personal storytelling. Rather than following a traditional route, she built her path step by step, driven by a strong need to tell her own stories.

At some point she decided to fully commit to it and studied film direction, where she learned how to turn ideas into real productions.
In 2025, she released Vreemdelingen, a film she directed, wrote, and produced herself.
