Shirley de Vrede is a Dutch filmmaker and actress who has been making her way into the film world through independent projects and personal storytelling. Rather than following a traditional route, she built her path step by step, driven by a strong need to tell her own stories.
Born in the Netherlands, Shirley didn’t start out in film right away. Her interest in storytelling grew over time, shaped by her own experiences and perspective on life. At some point she decided to fully commit to it and studied film direction, where she learned how to turn ideas into real productions.
In 2025, she released Vreemdelingen, a film she directed, wrote, and produced herself.
