Bálint Baráth is a composer and pianist, but he has always tried to separate the two from each other. While as a performer he always tries to interpret ideas and musical concepts from various eras, as a composer he wants to express his personal view concerning the universal spirit. In his compositions, he investigates the possible ways of transforming music according to the manifestations of human creative power, either it is a geometric thought, a diversified poliphonous texture, or the beliefs, rhythms and melodies of an ancient culture. He believes in the interdependence and in the pluralism of different types of art.
The sources of his compositions lay both within and without Europe, and their interactions are felt in his works as well.
