Born in suburban New Jersey and currently based in New York, Heather Landsman's formative experiences of endlessly watching genre cinema, growing up on turn-of-the-millennium video games, and having unfiltered access to the internet have fostered a singular filmmaking career. As a trans filmmaker under the school of thought that cinema is a medium of pure sensory experience, Heather gravitates towards stories told through digital experimentation, decrepit locales, meta narrative, and more.
Having graduated from Emerson College while working as an intern/production assistant for Blumhouse, A24, Apple TV+, and Ghost House Pictures, Landsman has written, directed, edited and produced numerous films, including a feature length archival documentary titled THE BEST OF ME.
