Denis Bokuradze, director of the Gran chamber theatre from the provincial Volga city of Novokuibyshevsk, is eagerly awaiting the opening of the new stage. For the city of chemists and oil workers, this will be the first real city theatre in its history – Novokuibyshevsk has never had its own theatre building before. Construction takes up all the director’s free time from work on performances, distracting him from rehearsals, taking away his health and attention.
